Dr. Ardith Baerveldt, CPsych

Clinical & Health Psychologist

About Dr. Ardith

I have 10 years of experience providing psychological services, including psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic assessment, to address anxiety, complex trauma, learning issues, somatic symptoms, and adjustment to stress. I earned my PhD from OISE/University of Toronto and did a further Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Psychology. In addition to private practice, I serve as a Psychologist in a specialized inpatient chronic pain clinic for youth.

Approach

I help my clients move towards greater self-acceptance and fuller emotional awareness. Together, we discover a shared understanding of the meaning of experiences. I also provide strategies for coping with stress and physical symptoms, supporting healthy behaviour change.

My understanding of the human experience is informed by psychodynamic principles. I integrate principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) through a relational and developmental lens to suit clients’ needs.
